Draft recommendations of the preparatory meeting of senior officials for the Third African-Arab Summit could give businesses a "key role" in the execution of investment projects, a senior Arab League official revealed on Friday. The meeting "will include an inclination towards giving private companies in Arab and African countries a key role in the execution of investment projects," Arab League Deputy Secretary General Ahmed bin Helli told KUNA after attending the meeting. "Recommendations set forth by the African-Arab Economic Forum (held in Kuwait from November 10 to 11) will be the essential building block of these moves," he added. The pre-summit in-camera talks, held over two days, discussed joint economic, investment and development-related issues in preparation for the summit of leaders on Tuesday.
