Kuwait - KUNA

Kuwait's Economic policies and development plans and how it can benefit from IMF's strategies were discussed by Minister of State for Planning and Development Affairs Hind Al-Subeeh and a delegation from the Fund on Wednesday. Minister Al-Subeeh oulined the visiting IMF (International Monetary Fund) delegation with procedures followed by the Kuwaiti government in endorsing medium and small enterprises (SMEs), which are seen as the means to achieve sustainable development through including the youth in shouldering the responsibility. On his part, A. Prasad, Deputy Division Chief of the Middle East and Central Asia Department of the IMF extended gratitude to the State of Kuwait for providing all information needed by the delegation regarding the country's economic policies, which would help in preparing a report, to be submitted later to IMF's development fund. He also extolled Kuwait's policies of easing procedures and placing appropriate laws and regulations to help champion projects. The IMF works to foster global growth and economic stability, by providing policy advice and financing to members in economic difficulties and also works with developing nations to help them achieve macroeconomic stability and reduce poverty
