
The agreement of strategic cooperation between the Albanian government and the German government was signed on Tuesday in Tirana in the premises of the Council of Ministers of Albania. Albanian Deputy Prime Minister Niko Peleshi appreciated the important role that Germany has played in the Albanian economy recovery throughout 26 years of bilateral relations. "Germany is the second biggest donator of Albania for 2000-2012 with 715 million euros (965 million U.S. dollars). German aid consisted mainly in the priorities of the Albanian government such as energy, privatizations and reforms, but also in the field of basic services such as education, employment and infrastructure, especially in water supply and sanitation," said Peleshi. "German Development Bank has been one of the biggest investors in the country for water supply," Peleshi said.
