Supermarket giant Asda has announced it is dropping its petrol prices by as much as 2p per litre. This will be good news for drivers struggling to keep their cars running, as from Thursday the price for Asda fuel customers will not be greater than 134.7p per litre of petrol and 139.7p per litre of diesel. Prices last fell to less than 140p per litre at the end of February, and petrol will now be at its lowest price since that time. Asda\'s director of petrol trading, Andy Peake, said: \"We\'re chuffed to be offering a third price move in as many weeks to hard-pressed motorists running on empty.\" A spokesperson for Sainsbury\'s said: \"We are doing everything we can to help our customers save money and along with the promotions we run in our stores, competitive fuel prices are a great way for us to help shoppers to meet their weekly budgets. \"By Thursday, we will have cut fuel prices in all petrol stations by up to two pence per litre.\"
