Bahrain will host the Social Entrepreneurship Week 2012 this month under the patronage of Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa. The Family Bank is organizing the event in cooperation with German Grameen Creative Lab (GCL) and in strategic partnership with the Economic Development Board (EDB), the Social Development Ministry, Tamkeen, Bahrain Development bank (BDB), Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the University of Bahrain. Nobel Peace Prize 2006 Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus, founder of Grameen Bank, and UN Yunus Centre will attend the Social Entrepreneurship Week. The opening lecture will be held on September16 at 9 am at Beit Al-Tejjar in Sanabis. A three-day series of specialised workshops will be held for NGOs, youth, universities, the business sector as well as owners of charity and social projects. The Social Entrepreneurship Week2012 will conclude with a strategic session. Social Development Minister and Family Bank Chairperson Dr. Fatima bint Mohammed Al-Balooshi stressed the importance of the historic event, which would highlight Bahrain's achievements.
