The electricity shortage crisis was the main focus of a press conference by Energy and Water Minister Gibran Bassil, following presenting his ministry\'s semi-annual report to the Cabinet on the progress of the electricity plan, whereby he accused daily-workers at Electricite Du Liban (EDL) of causing said calamity, and promised notable improvement in energy feed across Lebanon once his reform plan took effect. Lebanon\'s electricity feed has suffered tremendously in recent months, with a grid-lock between EDL and daily workers who demanded further rights. \"We will not stand idly watching the abuse, and people must take action,\" said Bassil. He urged Lebanese to choose between his reform plan and the sabotage the daily-workers were causing to EDL. Bassil revealed that his electricity plan comprised of power-generating-ships which will arrive within three to six months, and collaboration with Iran for further feed, as well as bids currently taking place over providing 700 Megawatts of power. The progress should be evident within the coming thirty months. \"Equality in electricity distribution should take place between all regions,\" he asserted.
