
Belarusian Minister of Trade Valentin Chekanov asserted his country's interest in expanding trade exchange with Egypt.
Many Belarusian companies are eager to establish partnerships with their Egyptian peers for they consider Egypt as one of the most promising economies in the Middle East and Africa, he told a session of talks with Egyptian Minister of Trade, Industry and Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises Monir Fakhri Abdel Nour.
The talks covered joint coordination to develop commercial and economic cooperation and developments regarding a free trade agreement between Egypt and the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union.
According to a statement by Chekanov, cited by the Egyptian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Belarus considers Egypt as an important partner both at the political and economic levels and believes that an Egyptian free trade agreement with the Eurasian Union would be a boon for commercial relations.
