The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Establishment carried out Ramadan iftar projects for the poor in 19 countries to provide families with food packages enough for the whole month. 1026 Muslim families in Palestine, 258 in Iraq, 978 in Egypt, 500 in Mauritania, hundreds in Somalia, 1000 in Afghanistan, 477 in Pakistan 8580 in India, 4300 in Japan, hundreds more in 8 African countries, Canada and the U.S. and Haiti received Ramadan food packages from the Establishment, according to Vice-Chairman of the board of trustees of the establishment Ibrahim Bumelha. Around AED one million was earmarked by the Charity to support Somali families during the holy month, he noted. The effort is coordinated with local charities and agencies in the said countries, he noted.
