Canada adds 59300 new jobs in November

Canada was added with 59,300 new jobs last month, making the unemployment rate drop 0.2 percentage points to 7.2 percent, said government statistics Friday. Statistics Canada said that the jobless rate in November was 5- month low. Before that, the unemployment rate stood at 7.4 percent. The number of new jobs added last month also exceeded most economists\' forecast of a modest gain of 10,000 jobs. Full-time jobs made up 55,200, most of which came from the private sector, said the government sources. Employment increases occurred in accommodation and food services, retail and wholesale trade, professional, scientific and technical services, as well as in agriculture, while jobs in manufacturing and construction were on decline. The Canadian economy expanded only 0.1 percent in the third quarter of the year. However, Governor Mark Carney of Bank of Canada, the central bank of the country, described this earlier this week as temporary and said he was expecting the economy to pick up steam in 2013.
