
Chinese Deputy Agriculture Minister Neu Doon underlined abundant capacities and potentials of Iran's Southern Province of Fars in various agricultural fields, and voiced Beijing's enthusiasm for expanding cooperation with the Iranian province. Neu Doon told reporters on Friday that China agricultural officials intend to prepare a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the fields of raising livestock and fisheries with Fars Province to exchange information and modern technology to develop the province's agriculture. He added that Fars Province, as one of Iran's agricultural hubs, enjoys eye-catching advantages which should be utilized properly. The Chinese official, heading a delegation, arrived in Shiraz on Friday morning to visit abilities of Fars Province in agriculture sector. China, as Iran’s biggest economic partner, is of great importance in Iran’s foreign policy. The Islamic Republic of Iran is currently China's third largest supplier of crude, providing roughly 12 percent of China’s annual oil consumption. Trade between Iran and China in the past year was estimated at $45bln.
