Council of States endorses proposals for its budget for year 2013

The Committee of the Affairs of the Council of States, chaired by the Chairman of thee Council, Gen. Adam Hamid Musa, discussed the proposed budget of the Council of States for the year 2013. In this regard, the Chairman of the Council explained that the limited budget of the Council has crippled its work in various aspects pertaining to the States, highlighting its role as a patron of the interests of the States besides its role in solving disputes between the federal units and the States. He explained that the proposals for the budget of 2013 come to cope with its extended activities. Meanwhile, the Members of the Committee endorsed the budget after intensive deliberations and amended some of its aspects. The meeting then decided to forward the budget to the concerned authorities for final approval.
