Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, or Dewa, has honoured 15 distinguished employees, who received excellence awards during a ceremony held at its headquarters to recognise employee achievements during the fourth quarter of 2011. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and chief executive officer of Dewa, honoured the employees. Dr Yousef Al Akraf, EVP-Business Support, EVPs, VPs and a number of Dewa’s top officials and employees also attended the ceremony. This recognition is part of a series of initiatives in which Dewa develops and encourages its employees to maintain their relentless efforts to ensure a motivating workplace and optimise services delivered to its employees. “This recognition falls in line with the directives of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to recognise distinguished employees, follow up on their achievements, encourage them to pursue their genuine efforts. Dewa is always keen to recognise and reward its distinguished employees either as individuals or as teams,” said Al Tayer. “Dewa adopts a strategy, which aims to efficiently invest, manage and develop employees, to maximise employee productivity and enhance their job loyalty. In this respect, Dewa adopts the best world-class practices and implements quality and excellence standards of performance to ensure top-quality services to achieve its vision to become ‘a sustainable world-class utility.
