Dubai - Arabstoday
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) announced the dates of its official business hours for its customer care centre (call centre), emergency centre and the customer service centres throughout Eid Al Adha holiday. Dewa’s customer care centre (call centre) will operate normally during all days of the holiday. On the other hand, customer service centres at the head office “Zabeel-East,” Burj Nahar, Al Wasl and Discovery Gardens will remain closed from Saturday to Monday. These centres would resume normal 7.30am to 8pm operations on coming Tuesday. MD & CEO of Dewa added that Dewa’s customer care centre (call centre) will operate round the clock, throughout the holiday period, to receive customers’ calls and attend various services. Dewa sources say that they provide regular payment channels through petrol stations such as Enoc and Eppco, Emirates Post Offices, Etisalat payment machines, bank ATMs, mpay through the website: mpay.dubai.ae, and through Dewa’s electronic portal (www.dewa.gov.ae). With the advent of Eid Al Adha, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced revised timings for all services during Eid holiday at all service delivery outlets including customer service centres, paid parking zones, driving institutes and vehicle testing and registration centres. Detailing these schedules, Dr Aysha Al Busmait, director of RTA Marketing and Corporate Communication, said, “All customer service centres will be closed on Saturday, but will resume official duties on Nov.9. With the exception of the fish market and multi-storey parking lots, all paid parking zones in the Emirate of Dubai will be free from Saturday to Tuesday. Normal parking fees will be applicable from Nov.9.” Al Busmait called upon all vehicle owners to comply with the applicable rules and avoid parking their vehicles on sidewalks or at the tail of already parked vehicles as such practice would entail fines against offenders. Driving schools and institutes, such as the Emirates Driving Institute, Belhasa Driving School, Al Ahli Driving School, and Dubai Driving Centre, will be closed from Saturday; services would be resumed on the third day of Eid (Nov.8). The Galadari and Al Ahli Driving Centres will be closed on the first and second day of Eid but resume services on the third day of Eid (Nov.8). Services such as driving tests, issuance of drivers’ licences as also vehicle testing and registration will remain closed from Saturday, resuming only on Nov.9. As for shopping centre-based registration offices, the working hours would depend on the business hours of the respective shopping centres.
