DP World, UAE Region signed a partnership agreement with Ports, Customs & Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) Security Department to strengthen and provide greater strategic depth and efficiency to security operations at its port facilities in Dubai. The agreement was signed by Mohammed Al Muallem, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, DP World, UAE Region and Mahmood Amin, CEO of PCFC Security Department at the DP World head office in Dubai on Monday. The leading regional marine terminal operator, announced that it has aims to achieve enhanced alignment of planning, training, crisis management, information exchange and other security related activities at Jebel Ali Port, Port Rashid and Al Hamriya Port. PCFC Security Department is entrusted with regulating, undertaking, managing and controlling all security operations of business units under Dubai World. Mohammed Al Muallem, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, DP World, UAE Region, said: “The total safety of our terminals is an absolute priority. At DP World, UAE Region we regard security as a baseline service provided to our customers to protect people and assets. Our teams work round the clock in the three ports in compliance with international security benchmarks. Our success is underpinned by our strong security ethos and the commitment to DP World.” DP World’s flagship Jebel Ali Port, has won three coveted awards from the Higher Committee for UAE Civil Seaports & Airports Security for adherence to the highest levels of security requirements, which include implementing the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code to enhance security of ships and port facilities, and providing specialist training to security teams. Jebel Ali was certified Best Port Overall, Best Port in Qualifying & Training and Best Port in Emiratisation. DP World operates more than 60 terminals across six continents, with container handling generating around 80 per cent of its revenue. In addition, the company currently has 10 new developments and major expansions underway in 9 countries.
