Drydocks World on Tuesday announced that it has recently launched an Anchor Handling Tug Supply, or AHTS, vessel built at its Singapore facility in the Tuas basin for Swire Pacific Offshore. The vessel was launched ahead of its scheduled date in September. “We are delighted at the successful launch of the vessel, which adds to our portfolio of important projects carried out for the offshore services sector. We are proud that the team was able to meet the productivity targets and launch the vessel ahead of schedule,” said Khamis Juma Buamim, chairman of Drydocks World and Maritime World. This ABS-Classed vessel with a bollard pull of over 200 tonnes is powered by four engines combined with an azimuth thruster and four tunnel thrusters. There is a main towing winch, CHDs and secondary winches with an anchor recovery frame for meeting anchor handling requirements. The vessel designed by Havyard Design can accommodate 37 people.
