EADS, the European aerospace and defense conglomerate, says it plans to significantly grow its presence in Poland through links with local companies. Two major business and investment events, called EADS Aerospace Meetings Poland, are being held in Warsaw and Lodz this month at which EADS executives will meet with some 200 Polish industry representatives over opportunities in the areas of procurement, industrial cooperation, research and development and supply chain management. "We believe the time has come for a strategic move to be made between the Polish defense industry and European industry through stronger links with EADS, a true symbol of global success in Europe's aerospace and defense sector," said Jean-Pierre Talamoni, corporate vice president for International (business) at EADS. "We think there is room today for Poland to play a much bigger role in Europe's wider defense industry. Our aim is to open all EADS divisions to Polish companies in a structured and lasting industrial relationship." EADS major subsidiaries include Airbus, Astrium, Cassidian and Eurocopter.
