
HE Sheik Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al Thani, Minister of Economy and Trade, expressed satisfaction over the outcomes of the 48th ministerial meeting of the GCC Committee for Trade Cooperation held today in the premises of the GCC Secretariat General in Riyadh. According to a press release by the Ministry of Economy and Trade, HE Sheik Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al Thani, who led the Qatari delegation to the meeting, has stressed keenness of the State of Qatar to support the GCC joint action, especially at the economic and trade levels and thus achieving the looked-for integration aimed at achieving the interests of the GCC nations. The outcomes of today\'s meeting will boost the efforts to move forward in achieving the goals that serve the interests of all the GCC countries, the Minister added. The GCC ministers of trade discussed during the meeting a number of important topics including means of coordinating the positions of the GCC countries on issues of common interest in order to move forward in achieving the Council\'s constructive goals and objectives, said the statement. The meeting has approved a draft of a GCC Unified Consumer Code, which shall be submitted to the supreme Council in the coming session, the recommendations of the World Trade Organization (WTO), the recommendations of GCC Trade Under Secretaries on the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law, the manual of procedures and models of economic activities of the GCC member states and the food security strategy in the GCC countries.
