Eurozone states undergoing major economic reforms should in future be granted access to financial support in return for commitments made to the European Commission, the bloc\'s executive proposed Wednesday, revisiting earlier controversial proposals. Under the plans, member states would enter into a contractual arrangements with the commission to carry out given reforms, and in turn receive support from a eurozone-backed fund. According to dpa, this measure would \"combine the need for more discipline at national level with more solidarity at EU level,\" said European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso. The commission is expected to unveil detailed proposals in the coming months.
