Consumer confidence in the eurozone edged higher in October, adding to signs of a pickup in the currency bloc\'s economy, a survey released on Monday showed. Confidence among eurozone households climbed to minus 14.5 points this month after a reading of minus 14.9 points in September, dpa quoted a survey by the European Commission as saying. The improvement was in line with analysts\' forecasts. The release of the latest consumer confidence survey follows the publication earlier this month of data pointing to an end to the recent run of accelerating unemployment in the eurozone. Unemployment held steady at 12 per cent in August, the European Union statistics office said on October 1. The commission\'s survey showed consumer confidence in the broader European Union remained unchanged in October, at minus 11.7 points.
