GCC railway network to be operational in 2018

The GCC railway network will be operational during 2018, the visiting Kuwait Minister Of Communications announced here on Wednesday. Salem Al-Utheina, also the Acting Minister of State for Social Affairs and Labour, affirmed in remarks to KUNA that he and other transport officials of the GCC states agreed on the necessity of finishing the project as scheduled. He was speaking at conclusion of the 29th ministerial session of GCC ministers of Labor. He also indicated that the conferees agreed during the meeting on adoption of \"comprehensive specifications\" of the mega project which would link up all the member states of the council. The meeting witnessed deliberations regarding minutes of the 21st meeting of the committee of ports authorities, joint reference for traffic control systems and establishment of transport data.
