The Committee of Ministers of Transport and Communications of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States concluded its 16th session here today under the chairmanship of the Minister of Transport Dr. Jubarah bin Eid Al-Suraiseri. In a press statement following the session quoted by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Dr Al-Suraiseri pointed out that the Ministers agreed on a number of recommendations that will be submitted to the next meeting of the Ministerial Council in preparation for their submission to the GCC leaders, including the start of the implementation of the part of each Member State in the railway project, the unification of comprehensive standards and engineering specifications of trains, and tracks of trains in GCC States, noting that should be completed in 2013 and the goal is to complete the implementation of the project in 2018.
