German car sales plunge 17.1%

New car registrations in Germany, a key measure of demand in one of the most crucial sectors of Europe\'s top economy, fell sharply in March, data showed on Wednesday. Some 281,184 cars were registered last month, a drop of 17.1 percent compared to the same month in 2012, according to the official KBA agency. Over the first three months of the year combined, 673,957 cars were registered, 12.9 percent fewer than in the same period a year earlier, the agency said in a statement.
