Government mulls cutting pay of executives at debt-ridden public firms

The government is considering cutting the pay of executives at public organizations accused of lax management and soaring debt as part of its efforts to overhaul the public sector, government sources said Thursday. The move will likely be part of measures to be unveiled next week aimed at tackling excessive debt and other moral hazard problems of public organizations including state-run enterprises.
