The Lebanese government renewed an airport advertising contract with Group Plus for LL3.1 billion, Transportation and Public Works Minister Ghazi Aridi said in a news conference Monday. “This is a good [source of revenue] to the public Treasury given the [current] economic conditions,” he said. Aridi said the airport has achieved its full capacity of 6 million passengers and urged officials to consider expansion plans to help boost economic activity. He said the government was still mulling the re-establishment of the Rene Mouawad Air Base in Qleyate as a second civilian airport. From TheDailyStar
