Grain futures closed mixed on the Chicago Board of Trade Thursday with some support provided by Hurricane Isaac, which has the potential to cause crop damage. Corn was off 5 to up 1 1/4, soybeans were up 7 to up 17 1/4, wheat was off 2 3/4 to up 1 3/4 and oats were off 3/4 to up 3/4. Isaac was headed toward prime corn-growing regions in Missouri and Illinois, which gave corn futures an early boost. Wheat futures rose modestly as trading was light in anticipation of a meeting in Russia Friday that could determine the fate of the country\'s exports for the season. In the soybean market, prices rose modestly with traders expecting demand will turn around if prices remain elevated. The prices: Corn: Sep 8.11 1/2 up 1 1/4, Dec 8.08 1/2 off 5, Mar 8.08 3/4 off 4 1/4, May 8.01 1/2 off 4. Soybeans: Sep 17.70 1/4 up 7, Nov 17.63 1/2 up 10 1/2, Jan 17.57 1/2 up 15, Mar 16.80 1/4 up 17 1/4. Wheat: Sep 8.83 1/2 off 2, Dec 9.03 off 2 3/4, Mar 9.11 off 2 1/4, May 9.05 up 1 3/4. Oats: Sep 3.87 1/2 up 1/4, Dec 3.95 1/4 off 3/4, Mar 3.95 off 3/4, May 3.94 3/4 up 3/4.
