President Abdo Rabbo Mansour Hadi received on Wednesday at the Presidency House Chairman of the AFESD Board of Directors Abdul Latif al-Hamad. In the meeting, the president hailed the generous support given by IFAD to Yemen, especially in this difficult and critical period after the big crisis that erupted early in 2011. The president pointed out that Yemen has made good progress in the implementation of the political settlement in accordance with the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism and the UN Security Council’s resolutions 2014 and 2051. The President affirmed that the comprehensive national dialogue conference, which kicked off on 18 March as planned, would represent the essence and basis of the change in Yemen. For his part, al-Hamad expressed his pleasure for visiting Yemen and signing a number of agreements in the different development areas, including the expansion of sanitation projects in the fourth stage at a cost of about $ 54 million as well as a number of streets and roads He confirmed the Fund’s readiness to provide more loans and aid, and announced the allocation of $ 30 million for the Reconstruction Fund in Abyan province . At the meeting, the president granted Chairman of the AFESD the Order of Unity in recognition of his great and good efforts in helping Yemen in the economic and developmental areas. After that, the president accompanied by al-Hamad laid foundation stones for 12 projects included bridges, intersections and sanitation projects and paving the floods road in the capital Sana\'a at a total cost of 40 billion Riyals. The President voiced his great satisfaction and highly appreciated for the support provided by the Arab Fund for Economic Development in this area.
