
Under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, and in the presence of HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Mahmoud, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Qatar showcased its achievements over the past year and the success of the World Trade agenda initiative during the annual gala dinner held Wednesday evening. HE the Chairman of ICC Qatar and the Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani said in a speech during the ceremony that the ICC seeks achieving several goals including developing the international commerce, promoting cooperation and interaction between commerce chambers and encouraging global trade and investments. He emphasized commerce and trade are a key supporter for economy, adding that the contribution of ICC in realizing the Bali Package is on the top of ICC Qatar’s priorities. He added that when it chose (Peace) as a key driver of its activities, ICC was aware of the importance of security and stability for economic progress. That is why we call ourselves the Peace Traders, he said. He commended the effort of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris to Qatar Chamber since they began working jointly in 2010, adding that the latter believes in boosting the private sector and enabling it to participate in development to keep up with the progress and development of the world. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani, for his continuous support for the private sector, and to Their Excellences Ministers and businessment and corporate managers who were keen to attend and participate in this event.
