Increase in price of vegetables \'normal\'

The price of vegetables in markets in Ras Al Khaimah has risen by up to 60 per cent, consumers have complained.Merchants have attributed the increase to a rise in wholesale prices and transportation costs, reported Al Ittihad newspaper. Consumers have called for the circulation of the ministry of economy\'s fixed prices list across the UAE. However, merchants say the increase is normal for this time of year as the summer produce season winds down. Others attributed the increase to elevated importation prices.from the national.
