Stressing that India would continue to provide political support to the Palestinian cause, the country has donated USD one million for the displaced Palestinians as a part of humanitarian assistance programme, India\'s foreign ministry said late Wednesday. The ministry said the one million US dollars cheque was presented to Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), Filippo Grandi who was on a visit to India on September 3-4. \"The two sides (India and UNRWA) exchanged views on a wide range of issues, including the recent developments in the West Asia,\" the ministry stated, adding, \"India presented a cheque for USD one million primarily for provision of food and medicines to the displaced people in the refugee camps under UNRWA\'s various programmes. The ministry said Grandi expressed his appreciation for India\'s consistent support to the Palestinian people. The ministry said India has traditionally provided strong political support to the Palestinian cause at the bilateral, regional and international level. \"India has been also contributing economic and technical assistance to the Palestinian people, both bilaterally and through UNRWA,\" the ministry informed. UNRWA provides services and assistance to more than five million Palestinian refugees in West Asia in the form of education, health care, relief, community support and emergency response in times of armed conflict
