Iran's Minister of Agricultural Jihad Mahmoud Hojjati and his Brazilian counterpart Antônio Andrade, in a meeting in Paris, explored ways to further promote mutual agricultural cooperation.
During the meeting held on the sidelines of the 82nd general session of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) on Wednesday, the two sides called for cooperation in conducting research projects and investment as well as technical cooperation for production of animal vaccines.
The Brazilian Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply is scheduled to visit Iran in the next four months.
In February 2014, Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi and head of a high-ranking Brazilian parliamentary delegation Senator Valder Raot in a meeting in Tehran underlined that Iran and Brazil enjoy many opportunities and capacities for close cooperation based on mutual interests and respect.
Iran has in recent years expanded friendly ties with Latin America, specially in economic, trade and industrial fields.
Iran's strong and rapidly growing ties with Latin America have raised eyebrows in the US and its western allies since Tehran and Latin nations have forged an alliance against the imperialist and colonialist powers and are striving hard to reinvigorate their relations with the other independent countries which pursue a line of policy independent from the US.
