Jordan\'s volume of imports rose by 3.4% during the first three months of 2012 reaching JD2.865 billion compared to JD 2.771 billion for the same period last year. In a statement to Petra, news agency Monday, Director General of Jordan Customs Department(JCD) General Ghalib Sarayreh said that most imports came from countries which have free trade agreements with the Kingdom benefiting from the incentives mainly the exemption of the unified customs tariff . Ghalib Sarayreh indicated meantime that the value of imports exempted from this incentive for the first three months of the current year mounted to around JD 536 million , compared to JD 492 million for the same period of last year, with a rise of 9% . Sarayreh added that the value of imports exempted under the Investment Promotion Law for the first third of this year stood at around JD 92 million compared to JD169 million compared to the same period of last year with a decline of 54.7%.
