The Khalifa Bin Zayed Humanitarian Foundation has brought food assistance to over 500 Yemeni families in hunger-struck Khofan, a remote desert area which lies 120km from Al Hudaydah Governorate. Residents of the area which lacks all kinds of services were quite surprised at seeing the Foundation's team carrying foodstuffs which they were in dire need for as a result of the years-long economic difficulties, according to the members of the Emirati humanitarian major's team. This is the first time ever that the desolate area has received humanitarian aid. The residents expressed gratitude to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for extending support to the people of Yemen. Earlier this year, President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan gave orders to the Foundation to allocate AED 500 million to help Yemen counter acute food shortages.
