Kuwait Fund of Arab Economic Development (KFAED) will provide Bangladesh a grant of $28mn for the upgradation of two roads in south-eastern port city of Chittagong. Engineering adviser of KFAED S Y Al Hadidi and deputy secretary of the Economic Relations Division Md Jahangir Alam signed a deal on behalf of their respective sides. Under the agreement, a big chunk of funds will be spent for upgrading the 5km approach road from Bahaddarhat to Karnaphuli Bridge into a six-lane one while the rest will be used for upgrading the 3km road from Moijjartek to Wai Junction into four-lane road. Besides, the two roads will also be widened.from gulf times.
