Malaysia has surpassed most first year targets of its Economic Transformation Programme (ETP), Minister in the Prime Minister\'s Department Datuk Seri Idris Jala said today. He said the country\'s total KPI (Key Performance Index) achievement, meanwhile, was 129 percent. He was speaking to reporters after officiating a charity centre run by Grace Community Services in partnership with TA Enterprise Bhd in Berkeley Town Centre here. Idris said that in one ETP aspect, namely Gross National Income (GNI) whose ultimate goal was to raise it to RM1.7 trillion by 2020, last year\'s figure of RM841 billion had exceeded the RM797 billion target. \"In private sector investment, the target was RM83 billion last year but we achieved RM94 billion. So, we are well ahead,\" he said. In job creation, he said that up to third quarter last year, more than 500,000 jobs were created against the 2011\'s target of 600,000. The Statistics Deparment was expected to announce the full 2011 figure next month, he added. Meanwhile, Idris said the Government Transformation Programme (GTP) was 131 percent ahead of target, and that included reducing crime rates, providing rural infrastructure and increasing the income of low income households. \"The prime minister (Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak) will make a detailed announcement in April the full report to the public about what have been implemented during the course of last year and this year so the public will know about the implementation, and public would know what we will do in the subsequent years,\" he said. He said the government needed to stay focus and work towards meeting the target to bring Malaysia into high income nation by 2020.
