The biennial Milipol Qatar exhibition on safety, security gadgets and equipment, is scheduled to be held in Doha from October 8 to 10 this year.The chairman of the Milipol committee, Brig. Nasser bin Fahd al-Thani addressing a press conference said the main sponsor of the event will be Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros, the distributors of Toyota and Lexus in Qatar.“They have given continuous support to this event from its inception in 1996. We wish to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to them for having made this exhibition always a success,” said Brig. al-Thani.Explaining the preparations for this year’s event, he said the committee has during the past several months attended Milipol related exhibitions such as Idex, Sofax and Milipol Paris, and said that it has worked out marketing strategies so as to attract the largest number of firms specialising in safety and security equipment to participate in the forthcoming exhibition in Doha. As much as 50% of the floor area for setting up stalls at the exhibition venue have already been booked by many firms from abroad. He called upon local firms to also participate in the event. Reciprocating the sentiments expressed by Brig. Nasser bin Fahd al-Thani, Dr Nasser Abdulghani, managing director of AAB said, Milipol is an important event. It seeks to present state-of-the-art technology in the realm of safety and security. “It is our privilege to be the main sponsor,” he said. The company will provide a fleet of Toyota and Lexus cars for use by the participants. He revealed that his company is firmly committed to the concept of sustainable development and in light of this has allocated QR1mn for this year’s Milipol. Col. Ahmed Abdullah al-Jamal who also spoke said many new foreign firms will be participating in the event with a range of new equipment.
