Morocco’s participation in the country program to be launched by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) allows the Kingdom to occupy a privileged position within this highly credible global body, said, Monday in Paris, minister of economy and finance, Mohamed Boussaïd. “The course and the path that we are now in the process of building with the OECD could get us to full member status of this organization,” he said in a statement to MAP, following talks with the directors of the centers of development and global relations at OECD respectively, Mario Pezzini and Marcos Bonturi. The Minister also said the Kingdom is the only country in Africa and MENA to be selected under this program, which focuses on the two upcoming years, and will provide Morocco with all the legal instruments to access all OECD activities. During these meetings, which were held on the sidelines of the 2014 OECD Forum, Boussaid said the head of government had expressed, in a letter to OECD Secretary General, Morocco’s will to be part of this program which would be an important source of exchange of good practices to help implement the reforms launched by the Kingdom.
