US President Barack Obama has signed a bipartisan jobs bill known as the Jumpstart Our Business Startups (JOBS) Act, which aims at supporting small businesses and helping organizations that searches business models to raise up to one million dollars annually through techniques used by entrepreneurs to tap thousands of investors through the internet in exchange for very small shares of stock. The bill also discards a rule that bans small businesses from using advertisements to attract investors as well as increasing the offering threshold for companies exempted from Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registration from $5 million to $50 million. Obama said before signing the bill late on Thursday \"This bill represents exactly the kind of bipartisan action we should be taking in Washington to help our economy.\" \"Because of this bill, startups and small businesses will now have access to a big new pool of potential investors.\" he added, clarifying \"our job is to help our companies grow and hire.\"
