Oman hosted on Monday an Afro-Asian insurance conference with participation of executives of companies from up to 53 countries. Chairman of Oman Insurance Association, co-spnsoring the gathering in coordination with the Sultanata Capital Market Authority (CMA), said in a statement to KUNA that the gathering was aimed at bolstering bonds among these countries, exchanging information and experience for enhancing level of this sector in Asia and Africa. The the meeting of the Federation of Afro-Asian Insurance and Reinsurance, held in conjunction with FAIR\'s Secretariat-General, addresses a host of issues in this field, particularly matters related to re-insurance. The federation was established in 1964 with the aim of boosting cooepration among insurance companies in Africa and Asia. It groups 270 companies as members -- representing 53 countries in the two continents.
