Oman’s Ministry of Tourism has joined hands with national carrier Oman Air to launch ready-made holiday packages for tourists which will cover a number of tourist hotspots across the Sultanate. The “Oman Short Breaks” package includes return tickets from Oman Air and accommodation at any of the Sultanate’s wide selection of upscale hotels. Popular destinations featured in the packages include Muscat and Salalah, a popular city known for its waterfalls, lime-stone cliffs, beaches and heritage attractions as well as Khasab, in Musandam peninsula, said a senior official at the “Oman Short Breaks” launch event held last night in Dubai. Ghasi Humaid Al Hashmi, the acting director general of Tourism Promotion, Oman Ministry of Tourism, pointed out that the ministry was taking advantage of its strategic partnerships with the key players in the travel and tourism industry to further intensify its promotion campaign. \"Our continuing collaboration with Oman Air, in particular, has consistently generated very positive results and has contributed in creating greater awareness and interest from a much broader target audience,\" said Al Hashmi. \"The holiday offerings builds on the continuing success of our strategic partnership with Oman Air and seeks to open more opportunities for strategic collaboration in the future,\" he added. Masoud Al-Balushi, the country manager - UAE, Oman Air said, \"The tourism ministry has been actively supporting our projects and this strongly demonstrates the commitment of the government to strengthen the Sultanate’s travel and tourism sector.\" \"The ‘Oman Short Breaks’ packages that we have launched reaffirm our strong support to Oman’s vision and serve as an expression of our gratitude to our loyal patrons establishing Oman Air as one of the aviation industry’s top-performing airlines,\" remarked Al-Balushi. \"Moreover, the holiday packages provide visitors with an opportunity to see Oman’s most popular destinations and enjoy upscale hospitality services at highly competitive rates,\" he added. Oman Air currently operates seven daily flights from Dubai to Muscat, four daily flights from Dubai to Salalah, and three daily flights from Abu Dhabi to Muscat. TradeArabia News
