Qatalum set to showcase plant technology at ARABAL 2012

Qatalum's state-of-the-art environment-friendly smelting technologies will attract the attention of manufacturers and delegates attending 16th Arab International Aluminium Conference (ARABAL 2012) to be hosted by Qatar, the smelter has said. ARABAL 2012 will be held at the Grand Hyatt here in Doha from November 19 to 21 under the patronage of HE the Minister of Energy and Industry, Chairman and Managing Director of Qatar Petroleum Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, Qatalum said. ARABAL is the premier trade event for the Middle East's aluminium industry. The conference, which will focus on the future of aluminium and manufacturing industries, market, technology and recycling, gives the Qatari smelter an opportunity to showcase its plant which has a production capacity of 585,000 tons of high-quality primary aluminium products per annum. The visiting delegates will be taken on a field tour to Mesaieed Industrial City, where Qatalum's safety and environment model will be presented with the aim to raise awareness, boost the conference’s outputs, exchange experience and information and enhance communication among various industry players, Qatalum a bulletin said. Speaking about the key conference, an official from Qatalum's communications department said, "Qatalum is giving top priority to this important event in terms of preparation and organization. The conference is diverse, rich, and scheduled to host representatives of leading companies from the region and across the globe operating in this vital sector." This conference is significant for Qatar since it is seeking to diversify the local economy. ARABAL 2012 is scheduled to feature a number of sessions, including discussion panels, seminars, workshops, and presentations by a number of regional and international industry experts and professionals. Key speakers for the conference include ARABAL Chairman Mohammed Naqi, Qatalum Chairman Abdulrahman Al Shaibi among other notable invitees.
