
Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) has discussed with a Bulgarian delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Economy and Energy Krasin Dimitrov, ways to strengthen cooperation between the two sides in the field of economy, energy and exploration of investment opportunities. The Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Economy and Energy stressed during a meeting today at the QCCI headquarters with Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Tawar the importance of activating a business council comprising businessmen from the two countries in order to ease communication and cooperation among them. He said that the aim of the visit is to push and promote cooperation between the two countries and between Qatari businessmen and their Bulgarian counterparts in all fields, calling on Qatari businessmen to visit Bulgaria and see the available investment opportunities and the size of projects and investments there. Dimitrov gave a brief summary of the available investment projects in several areas in his country, including infrastructure, real estate, gas, clean energy, lighting materials, agriculture, food processing and shipping. Regarding the gas industry, he stressed that Bulgaria has reached an advanced stage in this area and it has various cooperation areas with Greece and Turkey as well as distribution stations in each of Greece, Serbia, Hungary, Romania and Italy. He also called on Qatari businessmen to participate in a number of events to be organized in Bulgaria in January, including lighting exhibition and civil defense equipment exhibition which held every two years, in addition to other artistic and technical exhibitions. For his part, QCCI Vice Chairman expressed his willingness to help the Bulgarian side in briefing the Qatari businessmen on the available projects and investment opportunities in Bulgaria to achieve further cooperation between the two countries’ businessmen and the benefit of the two countries’ economies.
