A delegation representing Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry (QCCI) met a South Korean delegation here on Wednesday. The S.Korean delegation represents the ministries of agriculture, industry and energy and includes with other representatives of some private companies in charge of the agricultural , industrial and energy sectors. The two sides discussed how best to enhance ties of cooperation between the Qatari and South Korean private sectors in the agricultural fields and effective mechanisms to enhance such cooperation between the Qatari private sector\'\'s companies working in the agricultural field and their Korean counterparts. The QCCI briefed the Korean side on the proposal currently under consideration by the QCCI relating to establishing an agricutural city in Qatar in partnership between the public and the private sectors in Qatar to help preserve environment , achieve food security , confront the inflation phenomenon and the global price hike of foodstuff and agricutural products. The said agricultural city would contain labs and agricultural research centres , marketing outlets and whatever facilities relating to agro-industrial production process, said the QCCI delegation stressing meantime the need to use the state of art technology to set up such a city to confront whatever challenges facing the agricultural sector in qatar including water scarcity and climate warming , the QCCI delegation noted. The QCCI asked the S. Korean side to report it aboiut any proposals or visualizations that could benefit the setting up of such a city in view of the experience the Korean side enjoys in this domain.
