China\'s consumer quality watchdog said Monday that it has seized substandard and fake decorative materials worth more than 15.84 million yuan (2.51 million U.S. dollars) in a recent crackdown. A total of 168 decorative material companies were found to have operated without licenses during the crackdown, which began on June 20, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a statement on its website. The administration handled 686 cases, 35 of which involved products worth more than 50,000 yuan, the statement said. The administration will keep cracking down on the illegal production of decorative materials and boost its supervision over the sector in accordance with the results of the crackdown, it said.
