Regency Group — a Dubai-based multinational company, which operates retail outlets, has launched a line-up of in-house products under the brand name “Grand”. The $200 million group, which runs a retail chain under the brand Grand Hypermarkets, said initially the range would include fabric softener, dish wash liquid, bleach liquid and anti-septic. These products will be available in all retails of stores of Grand in the UAE, Oman, Kuwait, India, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. By the end of this year, the group plans to launch about 200 products for its customers. “The primary motive behind the new line of products, priced at affordable prices, is to benefit all the income groups,” said the group’s Managing Director Anwar Ameen Chelat at a Press conference. He attributed the success of the Grand retail chain to its consistent efforts at upgrading “the quality of products and services at a reasonable pricing.”Also present were Regency Group, Chairman Shamsudeen bin Mohideen; Mahamood TP, CEO, and Abbas Khan, General Manager, Grand Hyper (UAE). Ameen said that the products are being launched after months of groundwork and market research to provide the best quality. To eliminate middlemen, the company directly procures the products from manufacturers. Group has plans to start import of fruits and vegetable products from China, India, Thailand and Turkey. The group will take farmlands on lease to cultivate fruits and vegetables. All Grand retail outlets will soon have its own fruit and vegetable range under is own brand. The Regency group, employing 3,000 people, also plans to open a hypermarket in Qatar spread across more than 100, by early 2013. From : Khalij
