Russia, China pledge additional efforts to strengthen strategic partnership

The visiting Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo held talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in which the two sides pledged to further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination between them. Dai said during the talks that under the policies set by the leaders of the two countries, the comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination between them enhanced and achieved substantial outputs. For his part, Russian Foreign Minister that the strategic partnership between the two sides is irreversible, as it not only serves the fundamental interests of the two countries, but also contributes to peace and stability in the world. He said Russia and China were taking similar positions on many major international affairs, and adhere the UN Charter objectives , and the norms of international relations. The two sides also exchanged during the talks and views on the issue of Syria. Dai is on a visit to Russia to attend the seventh round of strategic security consultations between the two countries.
