Russian companies will cooperate with Iranian firms in electric train projects, Tehran Times daily reported Tuesday. The two countries\' railway companies are discussing plans to cooperate in launching projects for electrifying Garmsar-Gorgan and Tehran-Mashhad railway lines in northern and northeastern Iran, director general for investment and international affairs of Iran\' s Railway Company, Abbas Nazari, was quoted as saying. Nazari also said Iranian and Russian officials are due to discuss the two countries\' cooperation in building a railway line which will connect Qazvin, Rasht and Astara cities in northern and northwestern Iran as well. In October, the first joint Iran-Russia electric train project of Tabriz-Azarshahr railway line in northwestern Iran was inaugurated.
