A senior official in south China\'s Guangdong Province has been removed from his post for accepting bribes, a local discipline inspection official said Thursday. An investigation showed that Wei Jinfeng, former deputy head of the provincial finance department, accepted multiple bribes and made significant profits from illegal land deals from 1998 to 2012, an official from the Communist Party of China (CPC)\'s provincial discipline inspection commission said on condition of anonymity. Wei has been expelled from the CPC and transferred to judicial authorities, the official said. Wei, born in 1962, started working in the department in 1997. He was appointed as its deputy director in December 2010. Earlier this month, Cai Bin, a senior urban management official in Guangdong\'s capital of Guangzhou, was dismissed from his post after investigators found that his lifestyle, including his ownership of 22 homes, far outpaced his salary.
