On the occasion of the 41st anniversary of the UAE National Day on the 2nd of December, Sharjah Islamic Bank announced organising the 6th Sharjah Islamic Bank National Carnival. The event will take the form of a national village that will host an exhibition for national families in collaboration with the Sharjah Economic Development Department, a traditional food tent featuring Emirati bakers, and a photo programme that will take photos upon request and deliver them with a background and frame that are in line with the theme of the UAE National Day. The Carnival will be held on the front yard of the bank’s headquarters opposite Al Khan Lagoon on November 28th and 29th. The organising committee clarified that the ceremony will begin with the arrival of the ceremony sponsor to the bank’s headquarters, followed by the national anthem of the UAE. Emirati folklore band ‘Al Naham’ will perform a number of patriotic selections that express the love of the nation and leaders and commemorate the country’s achievements and its contribution to humanity, peace, welfare, and the prosperity of mankind. This will be followed by the flag campaign titled ‘My Work Raises my Flag’ in cooperation with the Watani Programme. Every participating individual will dedicate something he or she has done and is proud of to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan in a card specially designed for the occasion. Cards will be collected to be submitted to His Highness inside an album featuring the achievements of the society. In the same context, students of Omar bin Abdul Aziz School will perform an opera about the spirit of the union, in memory of the late Sheikh Zayed (May Allah rest his soul in peace) and his brothers the rulers of the UAE, who founded a rich and strong country, and built generations who are continuing the march of development and growth, reflecting the story of a country that is taking its well deserved place among the world’s nations. Sharjah Islamic Bank has allocated prizes (Kuluna Khalifa Watches), which were designed in celebration of the National Day, in collaboration with Sharjah Radio. The programme will include two-day long heritage discussions.
