South Korea calls for senior diplomats to expand \'economic diplomacy\'

Second Vice Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul called for heads of overseas diplomatic missions on Wednesday to expand their \"economic diplomacy\" efforts to help South Korea navigate through the world\'s economic challenges. Cho made the remark during an annual conference of ambassadors and consuls general in Seoul, at a time when South Korea\'s export-driven economy has been hit by dwindling global demand. The Japanese yen\'s sharp fall against the U.S. dollar also puts another drag on the South Korean economy.
