The \'new winds\' blowing from the countries in the south of the Mediterranean area and the new business opportunities that have been created by the democratic movements of the Arab Spring will be the leading theme of the International Logistics and Transport Fair (SIL). The Fair will be held from June 5 to 7 in the \'Fira de Barcelona Gran Via\'. It is the main event of the sector in the south of Europe, attended by companies and representatives of free ports, road and rail transport. In its 14th year, the Fair will host a new edition of Sil Logistics Directors Symposiums, with participation of logistics authorities from the several economic sectors and of companies that have their eyes on internationalisation. During the Fair, the tenth Mediterranean Logistics and Transport Forum will be held on June 5, organised by the Consortium of the Barcelona Free Trade Zone, together with the local Chamber of Commerce and the Association of Mediterranean Chambers of Commerce And Industry (ASCAME), which reports the news. The participants in the forum, coming from several countries in the area, will analyse the challenges and opportunities offered by the sector in the Mediterranean area, with sessions dedicated to Turkey, to railways and to the Mediterranean Summit of Ports. There will also be a debate on the prospects for transport and logistics in the Mediterranean and the results that should be obtained by the projects to promote the Union for the Mediterranean, in a regional and market prospect. The Fair will also host, for the first time, a summit of South American countries on the possibilities of trade with Mediterranean countries.
